A wildcard team for GW9

The model's best fifteen within £100m over the next five gameweeks is on best FPL team, with the Free Hit team for GW9 alone. Planning your own: the planner takes your team and lets you try a wildcard draft.

The rules in short

  • Unlimited free transfers for one gameweek; the new team stays.
  • Two per season: one to GW19, one from GW20.
  • It cannot be played in the same gameweek as another chip.
  • Your saved free transfers are kept when you wildcard.
  • Selling prices still apply: a player bought cheaper than his price now sells for the purchase price plus half the rise.

How this page is made

The chip counts are the official game's own, rebuilt twice a day; the wildcard team is picked by the FPL Dave model. Built by FPL Dave, a free Fantasy Premier League toolkit with its own projection model, whose record is published on the accuracy page every week. All times are UK time, the clock FPL deadlines and price changes run on; the pages are for FPL managers in the UK and everywhere else the game is played.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a wildcard in FPL?
A chip that gives you unlimited free transfers for one gameweek. Unlike the Free Hit, the changes are permanent: the team you build is your team from then on. Playing it costs no points.
How many wildcards do you get in FPL?
Two: one for the first half of the season (to Gameweek 19) and one for the second (from Gameweek 20). An unused first-half wildcard does not carry over.
When should I play my wildcard?
When four or more players need changing at once (injuries, a bad fixture run, a price-rise wave you missed), or just before several teams' fixtures turn good together. Played after a bad week to chase points, it usually fixes less.
How do I play the wildcard?
Make your transfers on the official Transfers page and choose Play Wildcard before confirming. It is played the moment you confirm and cannot be cancelled; you can keep changing the team until the deadline.
Wildcard or Free Hit?
Wildcard to rebuild for the weeks ahead; Free Hit for one unusual gameweek (a blank or a double) after which your old team comes back.
