How the full rotation search works

  • Budget filter - only teams whose cheapest player at a position is at or below the league median are searched, so results skew toward genuinely affordable enablers
  • Coverage-first ranking - combos are ranked by how many gameweeks have an easy fixture covered, not raw average FDR
  • Per-team rank badges - every team in a combo is ranked per gameweek (gold/silver/bronze), not just one highlighted pick, since a 3-5 team combo often needs 2-3 starters from the pool in the same week
  • Player suggestions - each team's top 2 players by season points, shown once you expand a combo card
  • Projected points - each suggested player's expected points for their actual fixture that gameweek, using the same Poisson engine as the rest of the site

Frequently Asked Questions

What is FPL "Best Rotations"?
Best Rotations finds groups of 2-5 teams whose fixtures complement each other, so at least one team in the group has an easy fixture most gameweeks. It's built for budget rotation - pairing cheap enablers from teams that never blank together, rather than picking one expensive player and hoping their fixtures hold up.
How does the search decide which combos to show?
Combos are scored by: most gameweeks covered by at least one easy fixture, then average defensive/attacking strength as a tie-break, then average fixture ease, then fewest "gap" gameweeks (where every team in the combo blanks at once). The search pool is filtered to budget-tier teams only - premium clubs like Man City or Liverpool are excluded from the auto-search since the point is finding cheap enablers, not restating that big teams have good underlying fixtures.
Why not just buy one team with a great fixture run?
Single-team fixture swings dry up, and squads with 3+ players from one club get FPL's per-club ownership cap (max 3). Rotation pairs spread risk across two or three budget teams so you always have someone to start, even in gameweeks where your primary pick's fixture turns bad.
Can I build my own rotation combo instead of using the auto-search?
Yes - "Build Your Own" mode lets you manually pick 2-5 teams and see the same per-gameweek coverage breakdown and player suggestions the auto-search produces, without any budget filtering. Useful if you already own players from a specific pair of clubs and want to check how their fixtures line up.
Who has the best fixture run right now (GW1)?
Based on average fixture difficulty over the next 5 gameweeks, Liverpool, Leeds, Man City currently have the friendliest run. See the full auto-search in the app for budget-filtered rotation combos, not just single-team rankings.
